Hello Kindergarten Families
Welcome to the Kindergarten home page!
The Kindergarten class is busy, busy, busy. We are starting a new math unit, on patterns, and a new science unit on fabric. We will be looking at how cloth is made and where thread comes from. During the unit we will learn about sheep shearing, weaving and felting.
We have also begun on our reading journey. After two months of work on letter knowledge and basic reading skills, like pointing at each word as you read it, the children are ready to start reading on their own. To begin with, they will spend 15 minutes a day l reading "fast, fun and easy" little books at school and 10-15 minutes a night reading little books from school with you.
Have fun and please call (857-0306 ext. 114), or e-mail ( n.conroy@sidebysideschool.org ) if you have any questions or concerns. We want to hear from you!
Thank you,
Nell Conroy and Carolyn Geter
