Inquiry is the focus of our science program at Side by Side School. The students learn the skills and develop the vocabulary to express their increasing understanding of science concepts, while forming questions such as, "What is in our world?", and "How does this work?". Students participate in hands-on investigations to experiment, gather and organize data, analyze results and draw conclusions. Students work collaboratively in pairs or groups of four with each member contributing to experimental design and implementation, data collection, analysis and reporting of results. Each grade in the upper school participates in one marking period of each earth, life and physical science.
Our program adheres to state and national educational standards.
